Greshne van Wyk (Physiotherapist)
Greshne is a SASMA accredited sport physiotherapist who graduated with a BSc Physiotherapy Degree at the University of the Western Cape in 2006, affiliated with the South Africa Society of Physiotherapy (SASP), HPCSA (Health Professional Council of South Africa) and Exercise is Medicine (EIM).
Greshne is currently the physiotherapist for Boland Rugby (Pty) Ltd & SA Men hockey team that will be competing at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Greshne holds an impressive array of qualifications and affiliations, making her a well-respected professional in the physiotherapy community.
In 2023, Greshne was the head physiotherapist for the Maties Netball Team for 5 years and then appointed, as the Head physiotherapist of the Western Cape Southern Stings Netball team.
In August 2023, Greshne accompanied the u/18 SA Netball Team with the Junior Blitz Bokke to the Youth Commonwealth Games in Trinidad & Tobago, where both teams triumphed with medals.
Greshne also enjoys working with school sports in her role as head physiotherapist at La Rochelle Girls’ High School in Paarl

Accreditation

In 2009, she was selected as a physiotherapist accompanying the Women’s SA hockey team to the African Hockey Cup of Nations, Ghana. That year she was also the physiotherapist for Stellenbosch University Maties Men's hockey team, where they won the USSA Championships.
Greshne was honoured to be a physiotherapist for Team SA at Paralympic Games, London in 2012.
She accompanied Team SA to the All-African Games 2015 in Congo, and formed part of the Paralympic and Olympic Games Road to Rio, training camp 2016 in Switzerland and Italy. Greshne was also honoured to be a member of Team SA’s medical staff that travelled to Common Wealth Games 2022, Birmingham. Greshne triumphed with two victories, USSA Netball Championships and the Varsity Sports Netball Tournament 2022 and is the team physiotherapist for Maties Netball, 1st team.

What to expect?
The physiotherapist will conduct a detailed subjective and physical assessment of your condition.
This will be followed by diagnostic hypotheses to explain the structured systematic, safe and goal-oriented assessment process with outcomes. We use appropriate strategies to motivate the patient to take responsibility for achieving defined goals- educate the patient in self-evaluation.We monitor patient progress that is specific, measurable, achievable and relevant within a specified time frame, - undertake discharge planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in a patient-centred manner
